Precision Endocrinology for San Francisco Patients with Complex Hormone or Metabolic Needs
Finding a specialist in San Francisco who will spend real time on a complex hormone or metabolic condition can be a challenge for many patients. Dr. Chhaya Makhija is a triple board-certified endocrinologist offering unhurried, prevention-focused care to San Francisco residents, both in-person or via telehealth.
As Seen In:
Many of our San Francisco patients come to us because their condition(s) have outgrown what a PCP can meaningfully manage — and because accessing a specialist who will actually spend time on the complexity of their case has proven harder than it should be.

In-depth lab review
Proactive prevention planning
Direct physician access
Coordination with your other specialists
No referral barriers. No insurance restrictions. No rushed care.
Precision Endocrinology for San Francisco
San Francisco sets a high bar when it comes to health—people here are intentional about how they live and take care of themselves. But even here, accessing specialized endocrine care can mean waiting 4–6 months for an appointment, followed by a brief visit that leaves little room for meaningful discussion or follow-up.
Dr. Chhaya Makhija has built her practice around a different standard: longer, unhurried visits, direct access between appointments, and continuity with the same physician over time. As a triple board-certified endocrinologist and lifestyle medicine physician with nearly two decades of experience, she combines deep clinical expertise with a more personal, relationship-based approach to care.
Her work in the Bay Area includes teaching at UC Berkeley and leading education on metabolic health and prevention across the region. Many San Francisco patients choose to come to the Lafayette office—an easy trip by car or BART—and use telehealth when staying in the city is more convenient.
